Here are my ten most liked photos

PICSPIRATION SUNDAY: I share a lot of photos in social media. Here are the ten photos that have received most likes on Facebook so far this year.

Some claim you can be expert in what will be success in social media. My own experience – so far – is that there is also a strong element of pure luck.

Most of my friends have noticed that I am not necessarily shy in social media. I share my stuff eagerly without thinking too much about it.  A lot of what I share are photos.

But which photos play well with the audience?

Here is the list of the ten most liked photos I have published on my Facebook photography page so far this year:

Number 1: Night at the light house

This photo from Kråkenes lighthouse in Norway received tremendous engagement. It was shared 138 times after I posted in on my Facebook page and in total was commented 81 times and received 1338 likes.

But most of the engagement was on other pages than my own, a fact that shows the power of social sharing.

Number 2: Morning in Geiranger

Shared 73 times and with a total of 631 Facebook likes.

The photo was taken in the early morning from Union Hotel in Geiranger, Norway. It is one of the most well-know and beautiful fjords in Norway.

Number 3: Night at Barcelona beach

At this moment the photo has been liked more than 346 times on my Facebook photo page in addition to 43 times on other pages. That is the highest so far on my own Facebook page!

Many of the persons liking the photo seem to have a relationship to the Spanish city, either because they live in Barcelona or because they have travelled there.

Number 4: Summer landscape

Total of 269 Facebook likes and shares.

Taken close to Haukeligrend in Norway. It had been raining heavily earlier, but then the weather suddenly changed. I was on my way to the west coast of Norway, but stopped the car when I saw the beautiful reflections in the lake I was passing. The flowers and trees were still wet when the photo was taken.

Number 5: Sunset in the farm field

219 Facebook likes and shares.

The photo is from a farm field in Ås, Norway, where I live.  I often jog past this farm. When I saw all the straw bales in the field I decided I had to come back that night for sunset. The next day all the straw bales were gone.

Number 6: Good morning from Geiranger

208 Facebook likes and shares.

This photo was taken from the window in my room at Hotel Union in Geiranger. I loved how the swimming pool was giving a contract to the beautiful fjord landscape.

Number 7:  Autumn in Ås

Taken at the Norwegian University of Life and Sciences in Ås a Sunday in October.
