PICSPIRATION SUNDAY: Autumn colors are usually captured in the forest or mountains. But also the sea landscape can be inspiration in the fall.
I spent this weekend alone along the North Western coast of Norway, driving around in a rented car trying to capture landscapes. It was a most refreshing weekend.
Saturday I went to the island Smøla, only two ferries from Kristiansund, where I had my base for the weekend.
Smøla lies next to the Atlantic ocean – and much of the landscape is pretty flat, posing some of the same challenges as when I photograph the farm fields in my home commune Ås.
But the landscape is beautiful. I wanted to have a feeling of autumn in my photos. The weather was mostly overcast, but the colors of the clouds in front of the sun were golden and sunset-like even though it was early in the afternoon. I decided that the clouds would contribute well to creating an autumn atmosphere in my landscape photos from Smøla.
Technical info about this photo
This is an HDR photo composed of five exposures. I tried to make the lines from the three stones in the foreground form a triangle with the two beautiful mountain tops in the back.
I chose aperture f/22 to get maximum depth of field. The ISO is 50, the lowest my camera offers. The exposures are 1/10 sec, 1/5 sec, 0,4 sec, 0,8 sec and 1,6 sec.
The photo has been edited using Lightroom and HDR Efex Pro.
